MEET – LILLIANNA KOH – LAYMAN FROM THE CESI CHURCH. WITH THIS INTERVIEW WE START A SERIES OF ARTICLES ABOUT OUR LAYMEN – CHURCH MEMBERS WHO ARE NOT PASTORS AND ARE ACTIVE IN THE SERVICE OF THE CHURCHES.
Lillianna, please tell me briefly, introduce yourself.. I know you as a person who is always smiling, full of love, creative. But it is always interesting what a person tells about himself.
I grew up in a family of five children, as the second child. After long discussions, my parents decided to give me a beautiful name, Lillianna. I am the mother of three children, two daughters and a son, as well as a grandmother to two grandsons and one granddaughter. I think I’m an ordinary person with my own birds in my head.
But it is good to be unique and not normal in worldly terms.. This is the time when many wake up and think about ministries.. What about you, are you currently active in any ministry?
I always stick to it, if a person needs help, I help as much as I can, I don’t wait for Christmas time. I buy food for someone, give clothes, donate to Ukrainian people. I hug people when God speaks to me, I support them with good words and the Word of God (looking at the situation). I’m not looking to do anything good, just to be praised. This is already the fourth year of serving in the Cēsis Methodist church and I am glad that I can help here, whenever I can.
Has there been a time when God calls you to serve, but it seems impossible to you?
Of course, already in the first year, God chose me to be the leader of Cēsis Methodist Church. I still can’t digest why me, because sometimes I feel like I’m not the real one.
For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

As I mentioned above, you are always smiling. When meeting you, such a feeling of warmth and love from you is completely palpable. I want to say – completely as a reflection of God’s love. How do you manage to keep this love for people, joy and warmth?
Thank you for the good words. I thank God very much that He is with me. That’s why I smile confidently and it comes naturally. Because I know that God loves me and I try to share what I receive.
The birthday of Jesus Christ is coming soon, a reminder to Christians that our Savior was born. Christmas! What does this holiday mean to you?
Deep respect for God, for His mercy towards us humans. And of course a party with Jesus because it’s His birthday.
Is there anything special in your family that you do this holiday?
In the morning we kiss and wish each other Happy Holidays and God’s blessing, we bake cookies, decorate rooms, gratefully present gifts, go to visit, enjoy time together.
Do you have a testimony on your heart that you would like to share?
I have heard that if you have grandchildren, then God loves you! This is my biggest testimony – Laura, Elina, Marcis, Sebastian, Maris, Madara – thank Him for that!
It’s so cute! In conclusion, what would be your wish for the readers of the newspaper?
No matter how hard it is, never lose faith!
