Who are you? Who do you want to be like?

I thank God every morning for how wonderful He has created me. I can see, hear and feel. I can rejoice and be sad. Although I remember that God gave to us one mouth and two ears so that we could listen more than talk, but I did not succeed.

Have you heard the saying “you are what you eat”? I do not think so. I agree that we are what we think. No, not what you think of yourself. But you are what your thoughts are..

We try to think good, bright thoughts, but still from time to time clouds of anger or envy thicken in our minds, our eyes start to throw lightning, and a sharp stream of words comes out of our mouths. Unfortunately, this flow cannot be reversed – words cannot be deleted using the “delete” key. And I must admit honestly, no matter how hard I try, from time to time my words will hurt someone …

I clearly know that the beginning of harsh words must be sought in the mind, in a cloud of nasty thoughts. That is why it is so important to control your thoughts. That is why it is so important to entrust the control of your mind to God. As David admits in the Psalms – „God, my thoughts are clear to You from afar”. What to do if indecent or evil thoughts come to mind? Turn to your superweapon – prayers! Pray every day! Pray persistently! Because it doesn’t need a special time or a special place… Pray when your soul is crying! Pray when your soul rejoices! Pray the Holy Spirit for guidance and help in clearing your mind. Because our stumbling and falling starts in the mind… in our worldly thoughts. But God’s Word tells us not to be like this world.

I am amazed when I hear how Christians justify themselves by saying, “God created me so. This is who I am. What can I do?” So then humans claim that he sins because God created him to be so. And this is deliberately lying.

BECAUSE GOD CREATED US IN HIS IMAGE

“God created man, in the image of God created He him. He created them male and female, and He blessed them. ” Genesis 5: 1-2

We live in this world among different people.

And God created ALL people in His own image…

But God also gave us the free choice of whom we want to be like… Are we striving for the likeness in which we were created? Or are we like those who do not believe in God? The temptations of the world are so seductive. Because it’s easier to live like this – go with the flow in a boat called “Everyone does it”.

Don’t be like a rotten apple

Please, do not get into this boat with sails, where the breath of Satan is walking! Don’t get in the boat with rotten apples! Any good gardener knows that even a single rotten apple can ruin a whole box of wonderful delicious apples…and don’t be like an apple that is beautiful and healthy on the outside, but has already begun to rot in the core. Start clearing your mind, your thoughts… Hear and listen to what the Word of God is saying to you:

“And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may understand what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” Romans 12: 2
