For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what they already have? But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans. And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. Romans 8:24-27 NIV
When you are born from above, God gives you a part of Himself – the Holy Spirit!
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another advocate to help you and be with you forever. ] the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you. John 14:16-17 NIV
The Holy Ghost is given to us to make the right decisions, to give up and say no to sin, and to pray with and for us. He is our only true source of strength, for the proper direction and direction of our lives, for the fulfillment of our calling.
Have you ever had a heartache when you have to pray for someone? So that your heart is in pain? It is then that the Holy Spirit sighs and prays with a wordless sigh. These sighs of intercession are words so deep that they cannot even be expressed.
I will share an example from my life of this sigh of the Holy Ghost.
Not long ago, my dad came from Germany to meet his loved ones. He was diagnosed with cancer more than 3 years ago. I hadn’t seen dad in 2 years and a lot had changed during that time. When Dad finally got out of the car, I no longer recognized him, and my excitement was replaced by a heartbreaking feeling. He weighed only 45 kilograms (99.20 pounds) , his dentures were too much big and his eyes were no longer burning. I prayed in silence, but I couldn’t find the right words, my heart was still breaking in pain, and whenever Dad wasn’t next to me, I had to shed tears. The Holy Spirit continued to pray at my break, in my weakness. Dad had come to me for two days, after his departure my heart continued to ache and I continued to pray. On the morning of the fourth day my heart was sore no more, the Holy Spirit had stopped praying, but a few hours later I found out that my dad was gone forever. I am so thankful to God that He has given us an intercessor who is able to pray when we are unable to do so.
Let’s pray: Abba Father,Thank you that You have given us a part of the Self-Holy Spirit. Thank you for specially creating me and providing me with everything I need to fulfill the task given bay You. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
