NESAM DIEVA GAISMU PASAULĒ
NESAM DIEVA GAISMU PASAULĒ
I beg you that when I come I may not have to be as bold as I expect to be toward some people who think that we live by the standards of this world. For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. And we will be ready to punish every act of disobedience, once your obedience is complete.
2. Corinthians 10: 2-6
Prepare and dress in your spiritual armor:
Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.
Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place,
and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.
In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one.
Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.
Ephesians 6: 11-18
First of all – the belt of truth, which means a clear understanding of God’s Word. Like a soldier’s belt, it has pulled all the other weapons together.
Second – breastplate of righteousness. Jesus is our righteousness and we are armed in Him first. Through it we also show obedience to God’s Word.
Third – we have footwear ready to serve the Gospel of Peace. It is the faithful ministry and proclamation of the Word of God.
Fourth – shield of faith. The shield protects the whole body. It declares our full safety under the blood of Christ, where any force of the enemy cannot enter.
Fifth – Helmet of Salvation, which in 1 Thessalonians 5:8 is called the hope of salvation. The hope of salvation is the only helmet who can protect your head these days when it is so easy to be confused and get lost from the truth.
Sixth – is called the Sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God. The other parts of the armament are protective, but the sword – the word of God – is an active weapon.
So, God is calling us to arm ourselves again every morning. It is important and critical for every Christian to be armed and to stand firmly in his faith.
Let’s pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for dressing me – in the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of service, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit with whom I must go into the world and preach Your Name, as well as to be armed every time when I need it. Please teach and guide me how to handle and wear this outfit. In the name of Jesus, Amen!
