My name is Liene Līcīte
I am from Cesis Methodist Church. God has given me a great family with three children and a loving husband. I’m also blessed with the church.
How did I get to know God? God spoke to me from an early age. My parents are not Christians and do not attend church, but I already had the opportunity to study Christian teaching in kindergarten, and I knew that was exactly what I wanted. During school other children sometimes invited me to churches and congregations, and God continued to work there. This was also the case when I moved to live elsewhere. Looking back I realize that God has always given me a friend or acquaintance to get to know Him better. Glory to God as He works through others to bring each of us back to Himself. For two years now I have been a member of the Cesis congregation thanks to my husband who encouraged me to come to the congregation and look no further. In this church finally I had a wonderful opportunity to hear the whole truth about the Triune God and the great blessing of knowing Jesus Christ as the Savior and Redeemer who truly took upon Himself the sins of the world.
But because of his great love for us, God, who is rich in mercy, made us alive with Christ even when we were dead in transgressions—it is by grace you have been saved. And God raised us up with Christ and seated us with him in the heavenly realms in Christ Jesus, in order that in the coming ages he might show the incomparable riches of his grace, expressed in his kindness to us in Christ Jesus. For it is by grace you have been saved,through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God.
Ephesians 2: 4-8
This passage especially speaks to me because it tells of God’s love for us. It tells us that everything God gives and does to us is a gift from God! And everyone needs to know that!
Girls from the newspaper team invited me to be part of this ministry. And I agreed because this is a great opportunity to glorify God and allow God to address others through me.
